My new 30 gallon! Yess!

I have just recently bought a new 2nd hand 30 gallon tank.
I am planning to fill it up and leave it overnight to see if it has any cracks, I know the drill.
I have just bought a nice thai tower decoration to place in the middle, with a nice variety of red and green plants with some nice beige/brown gravel. :D
As you can see, I am more than excited.

Now, the main part- MY FISH!
I need some suggestions to help me figure out what fish would best fit my tank.
I'm not into loaches- I'm into nice, active peaceful fish that will get a long nice in a community tank 30 gallons.
I'm up for anything, just make some suggestions. (But please, if the fish need any special care or along with your suggestion comes with cautions, please alert me of this.)

how about Pearl gouramis m1 & f2 . neon or cardinal tetras
some rasboarsas and corydoras for the bottom.
