Murky water....?

OK i have a 20 gallon tank and it is newly installed. I have noticed that i have murky water but the pH is all fine and i thought i rainsed off the gravel enough. Is there something i can do to clear up the water? I heard there is a product that i can put in the tank that clears it up....is there one? if so what is it and where can i find it? Can i put it in with my fish or do i need to take then out?

How long has the tank been setup, i know you said newly but that doesn't give me an idea of actually how long it's been going.
Usually with the murky water I would say it could be a bacterial bloom which means your tank is cycling, or your substrate hasn't settled quite yet. What is your substrate?
What type of fish do you have in it? Do know what your water parameters are?? Like Ammonia, Nitrites, and Nitrates?

If I were you, wait for a 24 hours for everything to clear up. It's not an issue really. It just takes patience. pH is not the issue here. You need to determine your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate when you cycle your tank.

I wouldn't add anything to the water, it's pretty normal for a new tank to have cloudy water. It should clear up on it's own. New tanks usually do require more frequent partial-water changes though, due to ammonia spikes. Are you testing the water params frequently?

I have had the tank set up for 3 days now. And it is a 20 gallon tank with 15 guppies in it. The pH is 7.2 but i do not know the nitrate and nitrite and ammonia levels yet bc i do not have that test kits yet. I have gravel as my substrate and it is roughly 2 inches deep. I have a small filter in right now that can only handle 5 gallons and today i should have my 30 gallon filter system in. Does the filter have a big effect on it?

i would think that the filter will help alot since the 5 gal filter was extreamly over worked. i agree with finsnfur do the water changes, if you can avoid adding chemical. as well i would get the test kit and test the water, you could even go to a local lfs and see if the do water testing until you get yours.
