Mr. Fish need help, he's cold?

im new here, and not sure where to post this question, but i dont have a bunch of time to look for the proper form.

half the ice is gone from my pond, and i was able to see a fish a few days ago that appeared to be swimming. i didnt see the fish the next few days so i didnt have any concerns. when i looked today i noticed the same fish laying sideways on the bottom of the pond. the fish is alive and will swim around a little bit.
i moved him to a tank indoors just an hour ago. there are no other fish acting as he does.
does anyone have any ideas? how am i able to save Mr Fish?

he will only swim, after i move him around manually, and then he will float onto his side and lay on the bottom of the tank.

been keeping an eye on mr. fish. he moves his mouth,fins,tail, but his gills are not moving. he still spends most of his time laying on his side. i keep moving him around, and i hope he gets better as the water warms up.

Stop moving him around. why would you do that? to encourage him to what? use up the last energy he has?
Like poking a dieing man with a stick just for the sake of poking him.
Let him be in peace, if he will make it he will, if not atleast let him have a peaceful death.

i do appreciate your response, but a "peaceful death"? i'm not giving up that easily, and it's not acceptable. i'm gonna do everything i'm able for this fish, i thought maybe he was lacking air, so trying to get some water moving through his system may help. i'm also thinking about giving him a dose of salt, but will wait until i can get more info on how to save the poor fish.

Stressing him more is not doing all you can. I can understand you want to save him but don't torture him in the process.
If you want to make a fish get more air you grab him gently by it's tail and move him back and forth till you get some water through his gills BUT that is what you usually do with a fish that you just fished and you forgot him for a while out of the water. If your fish is on the bottom on his side it means God is calling him.
I'd also be careful of the sudden temperature changes, taking a fish from almost freezig water to hot water is a bad idea, you need to slowly increase the temperature of the water, not from 32F to 70F.

guess i didnt know i was gonna get an answer from the fish god, did i mention i put him into hot water?(that will come after he's passed) if you need more details to make an informed opinion please ask, or suggest something that i'm able to try.

oh, and for an update......he's starting to move his gills more now, darting slowly at times, and staying upright more.

Try to chill for starters, you asked i told, comments like "guess i didnt know i was gonna get an answer from the fish god" won't help you, they will only show you have little to no respect for people that try to help and thus you will get even less answers.
I only said be careful to temperature changes, didn't i?

i first took the position i did because you basically told me to let him die. an apparently you didnt care for my methods, or willingness to save the life of my fish.

now we can throw stone all nite, but i would much rather focus all the attention on mr. fish.
