Looking for a catfish

Hello all,

I am currently looking for a catfish to add to my set up:

1 pair of Breeding German Blue Rams
7 Black Phantom Tetra
1 Bristlenose Pleco
2 Bloodfins
1 Guppy

I have a 29 gallon tank with ample filtration, only about 80% stocked.

Planted, sand bottom, 7.2 pH, temp: 79 F



Thoughts about a striped raphael? I'm worried it might eat my phantoms. Any other suggestions, i've been researching for days and found no conclusion.

I don't want any corydoras. I'm also trying to keep an Amazon biotype or at minimum within South America/ Central America.

Raphael Will eat small fish it can catch and would do same with eggs of fishes. Grows slowly to around six inches and could at that size also eat the rams.

Ok, so any catfish/ bottom feeder that can live solo for a 29 gallon?

Must be community compatible.

I had a 30 gallon with a 4 1/2 inch striped raphael and glolight tetras and white tipped tetras and he never ate anyone. He lived in there for two years with no problem. I got him when he was a little 1 inch guy form Petsmart. He shared a hollow log with a red tail shark and a African knife fish with no problem too. I hardly ever saw him because he stayed in his hideout until the lights went out. He ate frozen blood worms and freeze dried krill.

Plecos are catfishes in case you forget.

If you want the fry of the German Blue Rams to live you will not get any catfish for your tank as they will eat the eggs at night while the parents sleep if they don't find the eggs they will go after the fry and even though the parents will try to protect the young the cat fish will eat them fast than the parents can protect them.

Yes, I know, I was more looking for the "typical" catfish like a pictus, but those guys can't be housed in my 29.
