I should NOT have started tanks at all again

I'm so upset guys it ain't even funny.
I had to give up all my tanks for moving, then after 1 year w/out them I finally wanted to start setting some up again (and some of you followed that story on here) and it was a HASSLE to get any decent fish supplies in the next 100 miles radius here, so I FINALLY after weeks and weeks of driving and online order and DYI projects get the 3 tanks hooked & running....Put the first set of fish in the 45g and 55g (Rummy & Cardinals) wake up yesterday AM and 1 Rummy is dead so I try to get over the suicidal dude wedging himself between the filter & wall....had a pretty crappy un around day today and no time to check my fish...so I just got home finally look at the tank and what do I see in the 55g....ALL cardinals are coated in white dots...yes ich!
So my frustration level is kinda through the roof here and I called the store asking nicely if they were aware of ich issues with their fish I just bought (cause no other fish in my tank, so they didn't get infected there) and that Lady was all Bitch about it and hung up the phone on me.

So I'm really sitting here now, years of tank experience behind me, really questing if I should have just not picked up the hobby again...I never had issues before, not algae not ich nothing, I had ONE dead fish of age in all the yrs....This just seems so totally doomed to me from the start somehow by now
Needless to say I'm sitting in the stix with ich fish and no med's here...so I can run back to the city tonight, see if HOPEFULLY Walmart would have it otherwise I'm outta luck and them guys will die on me too (I already dialed up heat, but that alone wouldn't help it I think)

This is just not cool at all

1 cardinal down already...I'm wondering if trying to find/ buy ich med's will even still help or if its too late?

Sorry about your bad luck. Don't give up. Around here, you are doing great if you buy any new fish and they do not develop ick.
Good thing, ick is just a small set back and highly treatable. I do believe walmart has ick meds, but if not, the heat treatment works just as well.

You joined this forum in 02/07 and have been without a tank for most of that time? That alone tells me that if anyone cares about the hobby... you do. And if you walk away from it because of this setback, it will haunt you until you yield again and come back to it.

The only fish I ever lost were when setting up a tank - whether that happened in the last few months or 15 yrs ago does not matter. Wel all react to stress differently. I tend to go into withdrawal and do nothing out of fear for several days when stressed and wake up at the last minute and pull through: I need the pressure to perform. My sister cannot handle stress. She tries and tries and tries until it's too much for her and then she - get this - litterally gets sick. And I'm talking seriously ill.

You'll want to say to me - what about the poor fish? I agree. It hurts. It makes you question yourself. Sometimes things are meant to happen - other times, not so much. I feel awful for what you're going through because I see myself in your troubles. Don't give up please. If what I read between the lines on this forum is half right... YOU NEED THIS!

Thanks all for your kind words of encouragement...I guess I needed that.
Well I drove back to the city just after dinner and just got back in (9PM god I must love my fish really) the ONLY product they had is called "QuIck Cure" so I just did the math and added that to the tank (bot they ain't kidding saying it turns water blue).

I guess having dealt only with private hobby breeders before I didn't have the 'mass production' issues with any fish.

@Hawkin, I have been a member for longer, but wasn't all too active until some time this summer (life had me chained up before then) All my 6 tanks I had to give up leave behind last year in Dec (when we left our station overseas), so its been exactly 11 months from giving up tank till I started again. But yes I really do care.
And yea I actually really do 'need' this hobby, what came to me litterly by accident (a fish tank handed to me in a divorce fight of friends) really became a great soul relaxing hobby to me over the yrs, apart from climbing the Rockies I'd say its one of the only & quickest things that'll take my mind of daily BS in seconds...so you're right and I know I won't give up, just seems so difficult right now and thou I know I done everything by the book and everything appeared 'right' I shouldn't blame myself over 2 dead fish, but I do.

Well even if I had no tanks or all hell would break loose with my tanks, I'd still help you guys here where I know how to help
