I lost one of my clowns

I’m still trying to figure out how this could have happened. I opened up the doors to the cabinet that my display tank sits on, took out some food, dropped it into the tank and sat back to watch my fish eat. I reached into the cabinet to grab some more food and my eye caught something that looked like a dried up chili pepper on the bottom shelf. Upon closer inspection I see that it’s one of my clown loaches. It must have been dead for at least a week.
The tank is completely covered save for one very small slot in the very back corner where the overflow drains into the back of the tank. Even if he was able to jump through this small slot how in the world did he end up on the shelf inside the cabinet? Totally bizarre. I may never figure this one out.

Sorry to hear about your clown. Amazing how they can find the smallest gap to jump through. I found one of my cories all dried up on the top of the hood behind the light fixture. But to find your clown on the inside of the cabinet is bizarre. He must have been flopping around quite a bit. Poor guy!
