about 4 years ago my ex could have cared less about my tank. thats until my panda cories spawned. she was all into it then. my current girlfriend says nothing and lets me do whatever. mainly because my tank is cycling right now as i have reset up my tank.

My hubby thinks I'm very sad - I spoil the fish and spend 2 much time on this site! heh, but since getting the shrimp (for him) he's enjoying the tank more.

He's a love though and the tank was the best birthday present EVER (although I don't think he realised just how expensive starting a tank was going to be - opps!) He always helps to change the water/ clean bottom (with much grumbling though) cos I just can't bring myself to suck on the tube (I tell him when the water's coming but he always manages to get it in his month and spit it uuuurh) but I think I'll be getting water syphon (i think they're called) that does it by itself soon then I'll be going it alone ;) me thinks.

if you will hold the siphon and tubing under the water till its all completely full, then hold your thumb over the end of the tubing that you put in the bucket while keeping the rest of it under the water, place the end with your thumb on it in the bucket your draining it in and then let it go, you dont have to suck on it to get the water started. to me thats a lot easier than getting yucky water in my mouth. :)
