| | MOVING I have done my fare share!!!
My wife and I had fish tanks while in the military some years ago.. and we moved our tanks no problem
since them we have moved them several time after.. and we are thinking about ONE LAST MOVE before
we settle down lol
so what we have always done maybe different from others but it has always worked for us with out any fish loss....
traveled some 2200 miles without a fish lost.... anyways.. I have a COOLER.. yeah a BIG COOLER
the kind you buy to put your BEER in to keep it cold.. yeah that kind of COOLER.. lol....
well I transport my fish in it... with a POWER INVERTER hooked to an AIR PUMP... to Oxygenate the Water....
you could do this for at least 1 night.... I have done it for 2 nights but I used a heater to make sure
the water was staying at the set temperature..... anyways.. I went to HOME DEPOT... I purchased like 10 5 gallon buckets and lids.. I drained the water in the buckets... and left only enough water in the tanks
to cover the gravel. YOU DO NOT WANT THE GRAVEL TO DRY OUT.. you will loose your bacteria...
I then proceeded to move and once we set the tank were it was going to stay. I started to poor the
water that was in the 5 gallons buckets back into the tank then added fresh water. and YES
be aware as to what PH levels you might have at the new HOUSE..... I have done this very successfully
hope this helps ya.
