Thanks Gwen! I have a 20gL (not assembled yet), how much could they grow?, because I'm thinking to bought a 15 g vertical (13x13x24).

They take 3-4 years to grow full size. There is some talk about "stunnting" if they are kept in a small tank. With good water conditions, space and a good (varied) diet they can grow to 6-7 inches. Rule of thumb is 30 gal per puffer. I only have one, and have put him in full marine, with live rock. He's in a 75 gallon, that I got for a great price on Craigslist. I'll be adding marine fish soon, while he's still young. One puffer by himself is less aggressive than more kept together. They have a pack mentality, and tend to be more aggressive if they are with other puffers as they age.

The tank you are thinking about is too small for any length of time

Yes, that's what I'm trying to tell you. It's sad how many people get their puffers from walmart, who does nothing to educate people about them. They are all wild caught and deserve a good life in captivity, now that that's where they are. You've got some planning to do, to provide for them. They can live 15-20 years with good care.

You either have to place them, or find a 100 gallon tank in time. Puffers can get aggressive with each other as adults. In the wild they don't hang out with each other. As juvies they do. But with a large tank, lots of decor to break up lines of sight, you could be fine if they grow up together. As adults they live in marine conditions. You can keep them in high end brackish, but many people put their puffers in marine with live rock, because it's cheaper than keeping up with water changes in brackish.

They are fun fish, but trust me, start doing some reading on caring for them.
