i love aquariums and plants and these are some things i have done in the past to conserve water and waste
-if you use a siphon vac when you clean you aquarium media you can use the water to water your plants in your garden/pots
-old gravel from aquariums can be used in water garden pots to help weigh them down
-large old aquarium rocks and driftwood can be used in landscaping your yard or flower beds
never throw banana peels or coffee grounds in the trash. put them in your garden!!
with that said had anyone tried to use used coffee grounds to lower the ph of an aquarium?? i ask because i am currently trying to eliminate the use of a water buffer
