Do you think getting 2 more female Gourami (im thinking the golden version) is a good idea, should i not or should i get more/less?
(im thinking two incase if i add 1 she would get bullied by one of my existing Gouramis)
| Yes, this is a good idea. The Blue, Gold, Opaline, Three Spot... are all the same species, Trichopodus trichopterus. If you click on the shaded name you will see the porofile with info. One male with 2-3 females is better for just the reason you mention. Females added should be OK, a male might have trouble, so make sure they are females.
I do not recommend cichlids with gourami. Both are very territorial fish and too much alike. I know it can sometimes work, but it also may not. Redchigh's suggestions are fine, there are several suitable species among the characins, rasbora. Just make sure they are not small. I have observed a couple of Blue Gourami in a store tank make very fast work of eating a neon tetra.
