Getting an old/still running tank back together

I did a little bit of reading and found the Stealth Pro's I've owned were recalled April of last year. I thought I'd seen something like this in the past and just didn't bother following up on it, but yes, they were confirmed due to faulty wiring issues I believe; and all of the stealth pro's I own were on the list of model numbers recalled. I contacted UPG about the issue, and what my options may be since it has been so long, and the initial response last year was to bring in any working/nonworking stealth pro's to your local Petsmart or Petco for full refunds..

Well...luckily for me she instructed me to go ahead and mail all of my Stealth Pro heaters to the provided address, along with my name and phone number and they will be replacing all of them. I had a 200w that popped, a 50w thats working fine(just not strong enough for the tank), and another 200w still in its package that I actually hadn't used yet but had gotten for a great deal back before the recall. Anyways I imagine they will send me Visi-therm's as those are the only listed heaters on Marineland's website that they supply. Not as attractive as the Stealth's were but hopefully work as well, minus the chance for breakage :P

actually on my tanks which are inside in heated and air conditioned rooms, I simply don't use heaters.

But I have used heaters on the tank that were on the back porch with brick outside walls on three sides and a screened wall for the forth side. Of course outside temperatures got down to 10F and heaters were needed to keep the tanks above 55 F.

Even with that come summer one time one heater stuck on and I lost a bunch of corals.

So basically I don't like heaters but do find I need them from time to time.
