I don't know that fin nipping comes across necessarily as bullying... it's just a light snack. Swordtails could do that if they were all males... no females to pester.
On a separate note, only because I don't have any experience with fin rot, I'd suggest adding more cats. They really should have 6 or more.... and in a 75, the more the merrier. I have nine Emeralds in my 37gallon. I'd have more but I'm bumping my fish loading once they all grow up.
Oh trust me if i could get more i would nobody aroubd me has them the ones i have were the only 2 my lfs had and cant get more =[ and my sword tails are 1 male 2 female so i dont think its them ...i have no fungus i do 25% w/c every sunday what should i do aboyt the tail splitting?
The "nipping" may well be from the angels themselves, or the swordtails. This may be physical "biting," or it may be due to stress without any actual physical interaction. Fins will split due to stress. I have had it occur within characins.
There is no fin rot here, as I mentioned previously.
And I agree, increase the catfish, they ned a group of five, and three more will be fine.
Are there pieces missing or is it just split? How many have this? Just the one, some or all?
I had to order my catfish, wild caught from Peru. I doubt there are any tank raised. My LFS manager keeps them, knew what I was talking about, really liked them and brought in 50.
