filter for 10 gallon tank

Im looking into starting a 10 gallon Goldfish tank with 1 fancy Goldfish.What would be a good filter that can be found at Petco or Petsmart for this tank.And what else would i need besides the tank and filter.Do Goldfish need any lighting.Im pretty sure they dont need a heater.. correct?

Goldfish do not need a heater as they are cold water fish. As for a filter, I would get a MarineLand Penguin Bio-Wheel 150. Lighting is optional, if you do get lighting for the tank, be sure not to leave it on for longer than 12 hours.

Also, only get one Goldfish, despite what petsmart says, they normally need quite a large tank.

Before you start the tank: even for one fancy Goldfish, you'll eventually need something on the order of 30 gallons to house it. I would look into getting a 29 or 30 gallon tank instead of the 10 gallon if you plan on keeping the Goldfish long term. For a Goldfish, I would want to filter the tank at least twice the "recommended amount" for a tank that size in order to take care of the massive amount of waste a Goldfish will produce.
