Uhh nice tank Byron!!!

You're prop gonna come throught my line now killing me but....scrap all about lights we talked about before
I got fed up with these "standard" 2x18" lil hood things and since Juwel tops are discontinued here in the US I scraped allt he "standard" stuff at my house today and here's what I've been up to today:

I now have 2x4ft@ 32 watts bulbs one 5.000k and one 6.500k. Which after some digging and picture analyzing is hat had worked for me before (pretty good IMO).
So now of cause there's no proper fixture for 2x4ft bulbs, at least not in the old Juwel style I liked - No problem my friends from the hardware store where next on the list. So now I'm building pretty much a Juwel hood same concept & looks just outta wood (which will look like the tank hood I posted in the other thread with the overgrown plants).
Now THAT all sounds much more satisfying to me then any fussing around with them 18" bulbs and I somehow think my plants will thank me that

I think this will work better for you and I also think you will be happy with the result.

If you buy your tubes at a lfs that knows you, as I always do, they will probably allow you to try this and that and exchange, as long as you do buy one of them in the end. I did this with several tubes in coming up with my personal combination. If you can do this, I would try a cooler tube (higher K rating = more blue) in place of the warmer tube (the 5000K) and see what you think. It will be close, and strictly personal preference. But I think you'll have no problems with either, plus the 6700K.

Yea I'll try this set up first now (so God will and I ever get all my orders delivered) and then modify lil bitty here & there over time (as I always seem to wind up doing, just tweaking it a lil )
