Not normally a fan of products that claim to do what I can do faster,cheaper,with water change.
With that said however, I have used this product and it works well as ammonia scavenger and for general water clarity.
Have not used it in planted tanks so I could not offer any views in that regard.
I liked the fact that it can be recharged (approx 5 times) by soaking for 24 hours in bleach /water solution followed by soaking overnigh in PRIME.
They reccommend purchasing I believe ,Neutral regulator or buffer to soak the product in after recharging with bleach/water, but I found that simply soaking in ten gal dose of prime to be just as effective.
I used it in
Discus tank to help with water quality between the auto feeder used for juvenile
Discus while I was at work ,until I could get home to perform water change.
I bought three of the smaller pkgs,and rotated them while recharging the used one. In my view,,the product can go a month between recharging in well maintained aquarium. It will turn dark brown when it needs recharging .The small pkgs came with product in fine mesh bag/pouch and I simply stuffed a pouch in one side of Emperor 400 filter along with floss.
