I was looking at the vinyl tubes that run from the canister to the inlet/outlet pipe and notice it has really clouded up. Does this ever need to be clean and if so, how?

I had the same issue. I used, based on other forum member's suggestions, an aquarium brush attached to weed-eater line. Fed the weed-eater line, with attached brush, through the line, pulled the line through and voila - clean pipes. The brush I used was a Hagen (?), that was set up for cleaning long tubing. The original line wasn't long enough, so that's why I used the weed-eater twine.

Probably didn't increase water flow, but the lines looked nicer!

Good tip about using the weed eater line. I will probably just leave it alone then, its unsightly but its under the stand. I dont want to take the risk of breaking the tight seals i currently have on my inlet/outlet pipe. Im sure my parents would like new carpet upstairs but im not gonna be the one to pay for it by flooding the joint over night (lol).

Is it just me or has the forums seem......kinda quite? I usualy get repsonses to posts within a day but now its been 3+.

DKRST - Weedline is not 'twine', it's large diameter monofilament (typically made using Nylon 6 resin).

METALARM3 - Wet carpet does not need replacing, just extraction - them carpets deserve to be cleaned!
(now if the underlayment is particle board, we may be in trouble...not to mention whatever might be on the ceiling/floor below)... HOWEVER, you can clean these hoses without causing any leakage and eventually based on what others have reported, you probably will need to.

By all means I agree. When the time comes for it to be [b]needed[b] to be clean, then I shall do so. But from a visual stand point.....nah, why go looking for possibly trouble.

I know it's monofilament, twine is just easier to spell
It works well since it's stiff enough to feed through the hoses versus actual string/twine, that you could never push through - That would be like trying to push a spaghetti noodle through.
