Dorm Room Tank

I will be a sophomore at the University of Denver next year, and im looking to put a fish tank in my fraternity house room. I want some fish that will be really interesting to look at. I either want 2 or 3 big colorful fish or a bunch of small colorful fish. At home, I have kept a 55 gallon tank with 15-20 big African Cichlids, and 55 gallon tank with a few baja sharks. I have had lots of tetras and other very small fish. I'm looking for suggestions on fun, interesting, lively fish to keep in a 10, 20 or 29 gallon tank. Any help would be appreciated. I would consider myself an intermediate fish keeper.

I don't think you should go smaller than a 20. Especially if you have house parties.

I absoultely love Cardinal Tetras. They are very pretty, and mine have a very fun personality. You can make an amazing planted, south-american biotope around them. Say if you get a 29G, you could get like...15 tetras with 6 corydoras catfish (cories), and maybe 6-8 Hatchets. I would love that setup. The plants and other fish company would make every fish in the tank feel very secure and brave.
