Do you wear gloves when you test your water?

Some of the bottles on my API water test kit say things like "corrosive" and "harmful" and the directions suggest to wear gloves. I don't. Do you?

I don't wear gloves and just wash my hands after testing. Unless you have an open cut on your hand I wouldn't give it a second thought...

I think it is the same as most things in life; I always wash my hands before (plain water, no soap) and after (with soap) working on the tanks--there's all sorts of "stuff" in the tank water that shouldn't get inside us; same as after playing with the dog and before I handle food. With open abrasions as Kym said, be careful since all this stuff can enter the bloodstream directly. B.

No, I don't. I don't really see the point-all you do with the chemicals is put a few drops into a tube. Seems a bit pointless, unless you have very shaky hands!

Unless you have cuts and it gets into your blood stream you'll be ok

After the other replies, I don't feel bad not wearing gloves. I'm always so paranoid about chemicals.

I mean... I barely ever, IF ever get any on my hands... I noticed the ammonia test has the strongest smell... And also kinda oily if it does get on your skin I think.
I'm still here, so the API is skin contact safe ;)

heck no, ive been around pools for over 7 years with much more dangerous chems than these testers lol.

not a big deal just dont get it in your eyes, nose, mouth or blood.
