Cracks & Chips in Tank

I just picked up a 29g tank from a friend who was getting rid of it. After an inspection I noticed a couple flaws in the tank. The black plastic "border" has cracks in almost every corner. Does the plastic border have structural significance to tanks?
Also there is 1 small chip in the corner of the tank, not even an "eraser end" big. It is located about halfway down the tank, and doesnt seem to go deep enough to effect it. I filled the tank with water, and it held for two days (no leaks) before I dumped it out. Should I worry about the possibility of this tank breaking?

Not a expert but I doubt it will break.

The plastic at the corners shouldn't be a problem at all. How deep, exactly, is the chip? If it's really superficial, then I doubt you have anything to worry about.
