http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/profiles/eel-loach/ sounds most like the loach I have...esp. the only showing up at night and burrowing behaviors (and thinking on it...when I arranged the driftwood to be more cave like was when she stopped bouncing around and zipping around the tank like a crackhead...)
only is completely black/brown...not striped and the woman did encourage a diet of shrimp pellets...
then the golden mystery snail
and the mystery algae eater that looks a lot like the Chinese Algae Eater
