Clown Loach and Boesemani Rainbows HELP/Advice...

Ok I just bought 2 Rainbows 1 a male and 1 a female. I seen pics in magazines online ect of the male being nice and blue in the front and bright yellow in the back, my fish get like bruised color (blue/purple-ish) in the front and he kinda yellow in the back. Sometimes 5-45 min later he will go back to more of a silver in the front and same color yellow in the back, is this normal?! I feed them some flakes and tropical crips but they dont seem to go for anything at the top it has to sink to them.

2nd my Clown Loaches, they seem to hide ALL day long and sometimes we can spot them in the middle of the night. I have heard they "adapt" to tank mates habbits but heck we hardly see them, is this normal? Is there anything to get them out in the open?

the first i can't help with,the second...............
clown loaches will hide,and sometimes only come out at night.
how long have you had them for,and how many are there ?
do they have plenty of places to hide.
sinking catfish pellets will often bring them out,droped at the middle
sort of near the back,then when they are used to that drop
the pellets nearer the front.mine make clicking noises to me
in the morning if i am late to feed. :)
a treat of blood worm,water daphnia,sometimes brings
them out to forage,mine don't really like the light,so i sometimes
see them early in the morning,or late at night.
don't loose hope.

Yes, that's normal. I have 3 male Boesemani and when they are excited or showing off to each other they will get very dark up front ranging from a violet blue to blackish. When they're more mellow and laid back the front color fades. I have one that's very orange in the back and the others are more yellow. I've read the colors really depend on if they're wild caught or tank raised. The wild caughts are much more vibrant colored.

The rainbow in my avatar is Moe, my biggest Boe. He is in his calm colors there.

Willow, we have 2 loches and have only had them for about a week now. There is ship, a cave, and a cave that attaches to glass (which I have seen one of them in) for "hiding spots". When I drop a wafer in the pleco and cory cat (who is always out) will munch on them, bout 1/2 hr to hour later we can see the loaches

just the two of them,and very new.there is your answer :)
clowns really do better in a larger group,however due to the size
that they can eventually get to,alot of people are not able
to occomadate their needs.you have provided them with cover
which is fantastic,be aware they can and will often also squeeze into places you would never think a fish would go lol,
and don't panic too much if you see one or both laying on their
side as if dead,it's a common thing with clowns.
however if you approach the tank and thet don't shoot off,then have another look.They can also be prone to white spot,so try and keep an eye on them,clowns are prone to it.
as for the feeding............
feed the happy fish at the front,and drop a couple of catfish pellets
in the back.how many cory cats do you have,they are fabulouse to watch in a group of 6+
oh i forgot to ask the magic question.....how big is your aquaruim

Ok ? 1) we have a 55 gallon tank
? 2) Are catfish pellets the same as algea wafers?
? 3) What is piccies? Never heard/seen them

Catfish pellets and algae wagers are two different items and my loaches & cats love them equally. I think piccies is slang for pics, as in pictures??

I'm so sorry! I always call them catfish pellets but they are actually "sinking carnivore pellets".

You can also look for shrimp pellets. My cories love them as well as my other fish. Omega One makes a good one.
