Can someone dumb down wet/dry filter maintenance for me?

About 3 months ago I upgraded from a glass 75g w/ a canister filter to a 150g acrylic tank with a built in wet/dry filter. I have NO CLUE what I'm doing with this filter. I don't know how/when to clean it, where to put the filter media, how full the tank should be, etc.

It's safe to say I'm CLUELESS when it comes to this thing. I've looked online to try to find a basic guide to these things and have been unsuccessful thus far.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!!!

I've never heard of a wet/dry filter. What does it do? o_O

It's the PRE-filter that you need to be worried about, primarily. Whatever media you are using for that needs to be changed/cleaned periodically.

Yep. The bio-media in the filter itself usually doesn't need much attention at all. If it does get gunked up to the point where there's a serious reduction in water-flow, you can gently rinse it in old tank water.
