Can I add an African Dwarf Frog?

My tank is a 20G long, planted. My water is soft and acidic. Current inhabitants are 2 Panda Garras, 1 Platy, 3 Dwarf Rainbows and 3 Assasin snails. I'm definitely re-homing the Platy and possibly the Rainbows. I will be adding 4-6 dwarf cories. I really like the little frogs though. Is my tank ok for 1 of them?

Yeah. . . you'd probably be okay with a frog in there. Personally, I've found that ADF are easiest to keep in a species-only tank, but there are many others who keep them very well in a community. Usually the biggest problem is making sure that they get their share of food before everyone else gobbles it up. Also, keep in mind that they don't eat flakes, and *most* frogs that I've come across don't seem to have any interest in the frog and tadpole pellets that are made for them, so you're best bet will be to feed them with wet-frozen foods like brine shrimp and such - none of the other critters in this tank will mind this in the least :)

Tankfull Tropicals

A Frogs are big Hogs. If you want the frog to eat your smaller fish it would be good. Why not just keep the frog in an aerated jar or nano tank?

There are African DWARF frogs, and then there are African CLAWED frogs.

African CLAWED frogs have NO business in a community tank like this one. They get huge, eat everything they can even consider getting down their throats, and tend to be quite aggressive!

African DWARF frogs are little sweetie-pies, they get no bigger than an inch and a half or so, and can have quite a bit of trouble finding food in a community tank before it's all gone! They can and will eat fry, though, so that's something to keep in mind - but so will the rest of the fish you have, lol! If you want to keep any newborn fishies, you'll have to put them in a breeder net or keep them in another tank, otherwise, you should be fine :)
