Assassin snails

All research I have done on these snails come up with no way to sex them. I think I have found the slight difference between the sexes. With my colonies the females seem to be shorter then the males and more round all over, the males are longer and thinner. It will be impossible to tell when young, only when sexually mature.

I have alot of different snails and watching them mate the male seems to track a female down and attaches to its shell then proceeds to insert its appendage into the female. It's the same with Assassin snails. I hope with will help anyone.

But I was unaware. Also are you breeding them in fresh or salt? I ask because you posted in freshwater. I had heard they will only breed in salt water, but it would be a curious thing if you've discovered otherwise

The Nerite snail can only breed in brackish water, it's the only known freshwater snail that does that. Assassin snails will die if put into saltwater. There are other saltwater snails but they would die if put into fresh water. Nerite snails are the only kind that go back and forth. That I know of so far...
