I'd be very wary of the RTBS. A 30g is too small for one IMHO but that aside, he is likely to cause problems with bottom dwelling fish such as the rams and kribs. The cics can be quite territorial, especially if they breed and the RTBS, when older is very territorial and can be violent. based on the tank size, and other inhabitants, I would ditch the RTBS.

Yea, I know what can happen long-term, and I know that he can turn into a little terror. But for k=now, he is about 2.5-3" long, and nice to everyone. If push comes to shove, I have a buddies 55 that he can go into. If not there, the LFS has some very nice tanks and will take in fish.

Why go to that trouble? I just don't understand it. Why test the realms of reason? I am not meaning to bash anyone, but I really don't understand mixing fish that are not compatible. I do understand getting fish that will out grow a smaller tank, just gives one the excuse to upgrade(like we need one, eh?). But mixing known incompatible species just boggles my mind.

The sad thing is that some fish is going tho get the crap kicked out of it, or worse, before a move is made. Just to fill some inner want of some fish haver.

Could someone please explain the thinking process here?

Bob- I'm guessing people like that just want what they like and what will look nice, despite the well being of their fish.

I have always liked the shark ever since I saw it first, and the one I have is definately my favorite fish in the tank. He has even buddied-up with the Kribs (which I know may not last). I was orginally told that this fish can be in this tank (on this forum and others). Plus, I have a ton of hiding spots if someone ever feels trapped. I know what can happen; I would not have gotten him if I knew that he may cause problems later on.
