Algae and Snails

Well, my tank has gotten it's first taste of algae and snails today. I had a weak algae bloom on my side walls (probably from when I open and close my room door, and the little bit of light that gets through the window blinds). I took care of that, but I also removed a couple dozen very tiny snails. I

have actually been finding them, in one's and two's, here and there, but they have finally infested my walls. I thought about getting some clown loaches to take care of them and add a little color and beauty to my tank as well. However, I'm afraid they will eat my trumpet snails, which I enjoy because of they only come out at night, and are good for my plants.

Will clown loaches also gobble up my trumpets?

What size is your tank? If smaller than 55 gallons, definitely stick with smaller botiine loaches. All botiine loaches are avid snail consumers and will also consume MTS unfortunately. Don't get them unless you intend to keep them on long-term basis. 3 is the minimum when keeping loaches.

It's a 65. I guess I will just continue to manually remove them. If they get worse, then I will consider hiring some exterminators.

Sad! :( I love mine. They have nice designs and coloring as well.
