Ive decided to start my tanks makeover today. Today I Will finish removing the dead plants and swap out the substrate. I will post pics and keep everyone updated .

Ok here are some pics for the progress.

-Water 80% water has been drained
-Plants have been removed and put into a temporary bucket with old tank water
-Fish are split up into two 5 gal water jugs temporarily that have been treated and r ready to be mixed into the tank.
-my leopard gecko watching me do all this.
-The water got real dirty when i was scraping out the gravel im debating draining all of that.

looks like you're doing well,and what a cute gecko.
what are you changing the substrate too ?

The substrate was switched to a more natural brown rock looking one. I also have a piece of driftwood sitting in a bucket right now, hopefully it will be ready in a few days to put into the tank. Ill post a pic soon.

Wow sorry its been so long since i last posted (my father got very ill) on this, my tank is still not finished however it has come along way since i last posted. Im currently still ordering a few plants to finish off the tank and i will be completly finished.

My background first, and then thats with the background on it. The gravel was completly changed from the original multicolor blue green and red, to a more natural looking gravel. The pictures look bad because it was taking from my cell phone. The tank looks alot better in person. I ended up draining 90% of the water and cleaned the glass of the tank. The tank then sat for a while, during this time i retested all the ph and ammonia. im looking into buying a few more plants for the foreground. please feel free to comment, i appreciate advise as well on any plants you think would look nice.
