Zeolite Crystals

Do zeolite ammonia absorbing crystals also absorb meds and chemicals as activated carbon does?

No. Zeolite is excellent for removal of toxic ammonia. You can leave the filter alone even after the ammonia is deleted and use the crystals as a bio-bed.

Awesome. I was going to get some porous ceramic cylinders to add to my filter, but I guess the zeolite crystals will work as a nice substitute. :D

IMHO chemical filtration should not be employed except in anomalous situations which are fairly rare.

IMHO I would procure and utilize the ceramic cylinders in your typical filtration process.
