Wood from Lake Ontario OK?

Hey, I have some left over driftwood from Lake Ontario that I wanted to put into my tank (freshwater). I brought home a bunch of it and was able to boil most of it and put it right into my tank and had no problems. But I have a couple of bigger pieces that couldn't fit into a pot to boil them. They've been sitting for about 5 months, are they ok? Granted I know they're dry now so they won't sink but I'm fine with that. I'm just concerned about any bad bacteria or organisms that were alive that I can't boil out before putting them in the tank. Like I said the pieces I was able to boil are now in my tank and I had no problems with them.

I would probably pour boiling water on them anyway from the kettle, it might take longer but i cannot say if it safe for your aquarium.

Really big pieces you can put in the dishwasher on the hottest setting, remember to take out any chemical in the dishwasher like the anti-spotting stuff, soap..etc.....
Bath tub will work too to soak so it will water log and sink better
I collect all my driftwood and rock for my tanks and I like to use a tub out side to soak them in and I will use a spoon can scrape all the soft spots as well as a stiff brush.......
