Well water

Is it safe to fill a 125 gallon tank with well water that has high sulfer count? It is a long way to go to the city to get water the tank every 2-3 weeks for water changes
Thank for the info.

I have well water too! It seems to have a higher ph (mine is around 8) and it is harder than most tap. I tried adding a ph stabilizer to my 10 gal., but the ph popped right back up. Luckily, I have found out that livebearers (I keep platies) prefer these water parameters. The paramaters might be different where you live, but most well water is like this. But beware, if you have a water softener with salts in it, disconnect the softener and flush out the system before adding water( I usually just take a shower to flush the salts out). The salts affect your water and can pose threats to your fish. But other than that, well water is ok as long as fish that like harder water are added. So stay away from things like SA tetras, angelfish, discus, or any other species that likes soft water.

Should be fine IMO. Sulfates don't do much. I dose fertilizers and a lot of those are tied to sulfates that AFAIK don't do anything.

.... I'm probably drunk.

This is how I lurk
