What is your tap water GH, KH and pH before using the filter?
Sorry I can't help much, but right now I am paying for R/O bottled water for my changes, and I have to lug it up 3 flights every week....I was thinking of using this product......
DI water (this product claims it gives DI, not just R/O) should have a pH of 7 and a GH and KH of 0. You will want to raise them somewhat...also any trace elements you will need (Fe, Ca, etc) to keep your fish/plants healthy....
In the end, pH should be the last parameter you change after you make the other adjustments and see the new results.
Please post an update when you need to change the filter with approx water created.....I might want to get this....$30 initial with $17 refills online....
