Spray bar orientation (reduce current)

I just intalled an Ehiem 2213 on my 20 gal tall planted tank. The inlet tube is 3 inches from the bottom in the left rear corner of the tank. The spray bar is located horizontally about 1/2 inch below the surface on the rear wall of the tank towards the right corner.

I have been rotating the spray bar tube from slightly down to parallel to slightly upwards (in relation to the water surface) in an effort to suppress the in tank currents while slightly agitating the water surface for Oxygen exchange.

With all this I am consistently getting in-tank currents which are stronger then what I would prefer.

What should I do to minimize the currents while maintaining the flow rate?

easy... dremel tool and small drill bit... drill more holes at differnt angels. This will allow the same amount of water to flow through more holes thus reducing the pressure.
