Question Sponge filters

Since my Platys have presented with another spawn of fry I need to increase my 29 gal filtration. I have a Penguin 200 and a AquaClear 50 that I don't want to use.

I'm looking at sponge filters. I have one in my QT and one in my Betta tank and like them. The Hagen Elite dual filters look like they'll do the job. However, on Amazon there are some Jardin copies of the Elite. Does any body have any experience with the Jardin brand of equipment.

Thanks in advance.

Nobody's life, liberty and happiness are safe when Congress is in session. Hallyx kindly reminded me that this statement is attributed to Mark Twain. Even more pertinent today then when he said it.

I haven't used this exact brand but I've used sponge filters that are very very similar in appearance, only mine are some kind of Asian brand (box has Asian script all over it). All I can say is that my Asian knockoff works great although sponge filters in general are somewhat lousy at mechanical filtration.
