is a SlimPaq Freshwater "Bright pinkish hue lamp" useless to algae?
i got my nova extreme t5ho for my plants for a steal though it was the saltwater one with the blue actinic lamp which i now know is useful to all types of algae (as is the regular light as well, of course). i had been keeping either/or on 13 or 14 hrs a day (ya im stupid) often and now that i have an algae bloom the culprit is pretty obvious (my water is perfect btw). i'm currently fixing the problem appropriately i know the deal on that but i was wondering after my water is nice and clear if i pick up the freshwater bulb, use my regular light 6-8 hrs to prevent algae bloom and leave the pink light on till i go to sleep (which isn't at an ungodly hour, my plants and fish will have a fair day/night cycle) if this will be an ok arrangement for me and my tank. i think i caught a line here or there that algae do not benefit from this type of light but i have not been able to find much on the subject, its a difficult thing to google lots of nova extreme ads and stuff on pink algae, havent found the right wording i guess...
p.s. i'm pretty sure this is the right place for this post my apologies if its more of a plant matter

Reason: ambivalence expressed in my p.s.
