Should I use two filter media inserts?

I have a Penguin 150 on my 10gal tank and it has two slots for the sponge/carbon media cartridge. The manual even says I can put a second in there. Is there any point to using two? Maybe I should put a second one in there in about a week, then each week clean the opposite one, so each is cleaned every two weeks.....not sure, still a beginner. Thanks for your help!

Depends on your setup.

10gal, Penguin 150 filter, small air pump and stone, 4 tiger barbs, 2 red wag platys, 1 small clown loach, 2 catfish of some sort.

I see no reason not to. It will provide for more filtration and you can change the inserts at alternating times which is better for the bacterial balance in your tank.
