I currently have a stick-on glass one, that sits outside the glass, and I feel like the temperature is not very accurate.
It gives me a reading of 74-76, but when I put my hand in the water, it certainly feels colder.
I have bought the Digital fish tank Thermometer on Sourcingmap, which use a battery and have a digital display, It's accurate. And it can display temperature inside and outside of aquarium tank simultaneously. Take a look

I bought it because I was worried the stick on I bought from Petsmart was inaccurate turns out it was my heater that was inaccurate, plus with the probe it makes it nice to do water changes I can hold the probe in the water flow of my python like Aqueon device before I add water to my tank to make sure its the same temp as the tank, no bell and whistles just an accurate thermometer.
