Purigen

So I ordered the Purigen filter bag last week. Got it on Sunday and Installed it on Monday. And let me tell you how pleased I am!!! It has made a world of difference. the water is Crystal Clear and has not even begun to cloud up, the filter seems to be doing a better job with it in there. And my test levels were near perfect! I recommend it to everyone! it's $8.15 on the Amazon.com!! I will be buying another for my other tank!

I am still looking into long term effects of use in reef tanks ,where accumulative ionic imbalances can be detrimental, but so far it is working just fine. I have used purigen in a number of my fresh water tanks for years without ill effects. It will eventually exhaust from recharging and in some filters it is not very efficient due to its small mesh size not allowing much water through when debree is present. But when used proper it does its job and if some one has problems with dissolved organics this might be what you need.
