What about Tetra EasyBalance does it work as advertised.

They all work but the durations are short and the result is pH swings that are not good for the fish. Is there any specific reason you ened to lower the pH? 8-8.2 is considered the high rangte for most tropicals to adjust to so if it isn't that high, I wouldn't worry about it. I keep mine at 7.2-7.6 especially for my snails and I have never had a problem with the fish adjusting to it.
