PH Regulators?

Hey all,

Does anyone have any experience with chemical PH regulators? Peat, driftwood, and soil are not helping, my water is a dark tea color and my PH is still at 7.8, same as my tap, my GH is around 100ppm and KH is around 200ppm and all my water is run through a water softener. The buffers ive looked at, the seachem discus buffer lowers via making the water softer, but i need my GH and KH to be enough for my snails, does anyone know what I can do to drop the PH?
