Penguin 400 replacement parts

I scored an awesome deal on CL this week for my second tank. For $50, I got:

50G tank, stand, gravel, 4-5 filters, every freshwater accessory known to man, test kit and the list goes on. I'm cycling the tank now and using a couple of the smaller HOB filters. It came with a Penguin 400, which is a system I love. It was acting funny at first and now I think the motor actually died. Is the motor replaceable or do I need to trash the whole thing?

If the motor is shot then you will end up buying a new unit, but hang onto the old one for replacement parts. Marineland does not offer new motors as replacement parts, and the way those filters are designed, the motor is built in and not removable without breaking apart the entire system... in which case the whole filter would be shot anyways.

is it still making noise when you plug it in? My penguin 330 just whined when I plugged it in after it had been down a while, but I pulled and cleaned the impeller well and it worked fine.
