Pebble Vaccume - minor difficulty.

So I bought a pebble vaccume for my 10 gallon. It's supposed to be the right size, but whenever I go to use it, the water won't go all the way up the nozzle part. It's like there's not enough pressure from the water to push the water into the hose. It makes cleaning a big pain. What can I do?

I'll bite - what's a 'pebble vacuum'? Is this a battery operated gizmo or are you talking about a gravel siphon?
Can you post a picture or a link to a picture?

easy way.. put your finger over the small end(the end in the bucket) fill big end (the part you actually vacume with) with water. take finger off. as soon as water starts to flow out.. cover hose up again. refil big end. remove finger and your good to go..just remember to keep the small end lower than the big end...

You don't suck on a gravel siphon to get it started!!! All you do is fill the large inlet tube and raise it to fill the small end of the tube, then squeeze the tube and fill the inlet for continued siphon, making sure the out tube is in a bucket or hose lower than the bottom of the aquarium.
Check out some youtube videos:

You won't get any fishy water in your mouth if you let the water get halfway down the hose and then quickly point it into the bucket.

You'll get really good at it after a few tries.
