Online store to get cheap filter inserts??

Hey guys, I have an AquaClear 30 filter and the filter inserts, foam, carbon/ammonia remover, bio bag/pellets, are kind of pricy, I was wondering if anyone new of a place, potentially online where a person can get cheap inserts? Potentially in bulk?

Thanks in advance

lol ummm how often are you replacing them. The carbon/ammonia remover stuff is worthless. The Bio ceramics and sponges only need to be replaced once they start literally falling apart. Even then You don't have you use brand name things. Just buy the cheapest filter pad and cut it up to fit. I got some 5 year old filter pads and there are random things in my Rena canister. I know there are some aqua clear rectangle sponges in there. If you want to be really cheap any filter can be run using just pot scrubbers, gravel, and filter floss

Is there a place I could learn how to build my own inserts for the filter then?

Run to your local fish store or big named pet store, they should carry some cut your own filter material for less then $10, and that will give you tons of replacements.

Good call, I've never even really looked for that before. I assume petsmart will have something like that.

Thanks

My petsmart carries it, it white and blue called marineland rite size, it was on the top shelf at my petsmart so kinda hard to see.

Also I've been using that for about 3 months or so now.
