Need help with Canister filter..

I have a Via aqua 750 on a 75 gallon tank. its supposed to be powerful, but when i put my hand near the pipe, i dont feel any suction at all. my whisper 55 on the 20 gal is 10x more powerful. is there a spot where i can change the speed? i cant find anything on the speed or power in the manual. all the hose are tight and secure but i still dont see the 315gph speed happening. i called a couple aquarium places, they said canister filter have slow water flow since it does more cleaning with the media but i still dont think this filter should be running so slow....

is there any water being pumped out? because thats where you should be feeling. if there is water coming out or not. because if it is then its going in as well.

The whole reason there are strainers on the intake and you cant feel water suction is so fish don't get sucked in. if it was hardout suction from a small hole the fish would get pulled in . so maybe you're 20 gallon is doing too much.

You're not going to feel a tremendous amount of suction right by the strainer. Like panamera said, the strainer is there to keep your fish from getting close enough to the intake to get sucked in among other things. If there's nothing coming out of the return then you might have problems.

Unless you have a leak then out = in. If you've got enough coming out of the return you have enough going in the intake.
