large canister on small tank?

well i just went out and got a cheapie fluval 205 to do the job. i was gonna try to 'cycle' my larger filter but decided i need to switch to a canister anyway on that tank so i'll just transfer the bio media when it's time to set up the 75.

thanks for the input about the valves...i know who to ask next time i have a diy question even though i kind of already knew

Those valves are actually pretty helpful, may that be for opening your eheim to add carbon after medication or it yearly maintenance....back in the days Eheim never had them and it was pretty messy taking your filter apart, now its working great.

i actually think it des...i'm just a bit disappointed in the oversimplification of the manual. i wonder if it's missing something from the packaging.

god help me when i need to open the fluval to retrieve bio-media...that might get messy.

On the new big Eheim you bought? What's wrong there? I honestly can't tell you about the manual cause I had them for so many yrs I don't even read that any more.

Now fluval I had one time; bought it hooked up, let run for few days ditched it I'm not even gonna repeat my feelings here towards that thing. They may have changed over the past 5yrs but I sure disliked mine and won't buy another one.

You know what thou when I looked for a good sized internal filter I came across these Cascades and I'm LOVING mine in the 45g.

LOL if you need a extra filter or 2 or 3 Just lemme know cause I promised hubby I'd get rid of all these spare tank parts here lol

I want to check out the cascade filters... saw them yesterday and almost bought one...

i was surprised by how quiet the fluval is... i'm hoping the eheim is SILENT.

we'll see how long it lasts.

My eheims always been silent I know some folks having troubles with the impeller at times and that'll cause sounds of cause but otherwise I'm super happy.
Now the Cascades internal I don't her a thing. I bought this 600 model here based of the chart for the 45g tank http://www.petsolutions.com/Cascade-...02431+C21.aspx and I can assure you on a planted tank dialed all the way down already it is quite a powerful filter (next time around I'd buy the smaller one) but right now replacing it is pointless unless I could trade/ sell the larger one with someone keep my sponges and get a new smaller one ...Life & learn but I really like them so far - Can't tell you nothing about long terms yrs on end usage on those like I can on Eheim thou.

alrighty, then, when i set up tank number FIVE then i have a filter already chosen ; )
