Inline heater with Fluval ribbed hoses?

I'd like to use the ETH inline heater on the return line of my Fluval 305. My concern is the ribbed hoses on the Fluval. As far as I know they are the only manufacturers who use such hoses. Has anyone used an ETH with the Fluval lines? Will they seal properly?

attach a length of 5/8" clear tubing beween the cannister and the heater, attach the rubber end from the ribbed hose onto the other end of the filter. i replaced all the ribbed tubing with clear tubing and added the older style 304 rim addaptors and couldnt be happier with my 304 and hydor eth
