Hood & lighting

Hello everyone,

Im new here and new to setting up aquariums. I have aquried a 15gal upright tank and stand. The hood had the light built in and it doest work anymore due to it being all rusted. So Im trying to find a new hood and light for it. The hood measures 13.5 x 13.5. I have tried to search for that size but I havent seen any so I asume I'll have to have it custom made or make it myself. I was wondering if any of you would share any ideas that you might have. Any help would be appericated Thank you

I'd just retrofit the old hood, do you have any pictures of it? Can throw you some pointers there. Otherwise I would just do a nice stained wood hood.

Are you going planted? if not there this-
18 or 24 Watt Kits

or if you are going planted just get two of them

To all who wonder: I can spell, I just am still getting used to using my new iPod touch and my fingers still need to figure out where the keys are.

Yes I still have the hood zof. I just removed the light due to it being all rusted I didnt want any rust to fall into the tank. Thank Jame7139 for the idea.

Im going to try to retro fit the 18watt kit into the old lid. I'll see how that goes first. If not I'll make a nice wooden Canopy for it.

This should be a pretty easy fix, if you don't want to go for the kit you can just add in a regular light socket and use some screw in CFLs just put a piece of acrylic over it when you are done to protect it from the water.

Pretty simple here link to one I've done My take on Rain gutter lighting
