Help with Killer Powerhead

Ok so my Aquaclear powerhead sucked my snail and one of my fish. I thought it couldn't do this. How can I stop this from happening?

Is there a mod I can do to it?

I have a 20 gallon tank with Guppies, swordtails, platys, a snail, Otos, Corys, and an Birchir.

Wrap a piece of nylon panty hose around the intake of the filter. Should do the trick.

Keep in mind that a healthy/strong fish won't generally get caught by a powerhead. Try protecting it with some foam, cloth, or you could make a screen from cross stitch plastic. You can get it at Walmart for about $3. Zip tie in a large diameter circle around the intake.

I've never lost a fish to my Tunze 6080 pumps, these run 2,400GPH. That's a lot of flow compared to most any 600GPH.
