as far as if you order light tubes through the mail. you obviously think about them being damaged through the mail. when I ordered my t5 setup I ordered lights separately. well when I got everything in one bulb was no good from being slammed around and one was good. luckily drfostersmith has what seemed to be a USA based cust service dept. they shipped me new bulbs that day at no extra charge and had me send in the old ones when the new came in. was a seemless return. not to mentuion they sent the other bulbs with 5x more packageing then the original ones.

well point im getting at - if you order online I highly recommend them

Thanks, we have a Canadian supplier that I might try, saves the customs nightmare. I have a couple of shops that I will be near tomorrow and will look first. Taking Mr Pleco back tomorrow too. If its that much of a hassle and I have to order something I will probably order LED anyway... I need to consider that the fixture (ballast) is quite old, it would be a shame to buy a bulb then have the fixture go next.

Jeff.

Total years fish keeping experience: 7 months, can't start counting in years for a while yet.

The shotgun approach to a planted tank with an LED fixture

Small scale nitrogen cycle with a jar, water and fish food; no substrate, filter etc
