Great price. I have an xp 3 coming from ken's fish. I can't vouch for its performance personally but everything I've read on them is positive. I don't think I've read one bad thing about the Filstars. Should be a good filter for you.

Well that's a step in a good direction. If I can get two more people to vouch, looks like someone's getting a new filter!

The only negative I have heard about Rena canister filters is that they are touch louder than the Fluvals and Eheims, not loud mind you but a bit of a hum or something, but they work fine as a filter.

I pers hadn't had one (always buy eheim) but over the yrs in forums; I can back up what rsn48 said about the 'noise' several people reported that but said apart from that they like the performance.

Well the tank is going to be downstairs...so noise won't be too much of a problem. I cannot find any Eheim around here for a low price. I'm thrifty, ahhaha.
